Movie Review: Train to Busan
Train to Busan
Surviving passengers of a train heading towards Busan (a metropolitan city just to the south east of Korea) are trapped as the world around them collapses. The story focuses on a young Seoul girl on her way to visit her mother in Busan, however she experiences a bit of a delay as a zombie outbreak begins to take over the country. She and her father, with some few acquaintances a long the way, must kill and fight their way through mobs and masses of the undead to arrive at their destination. Will they make it?

Train to Busan is a Korean movie that came to theatres this summer of 2016. An action filled movie that mashes two unlikely things, the Korean public transit system and zombie apocalypses. This movie had a simple zombie apocalypse"get from point A to point B" plot, many movies in the past have done this sort of premise and there are many zombie films out there, however the execution of this movie was done very well and made it stand out from the crowd. It did not only deliver in the action but also in the story and the characters that were involved. This movie made it clear that this was about character development and not so much on the zombies. Each character had a purpose and a story, including the supporting roles, we watched them venture through chaos and hell and see them change throughout the film. You grow attached to them and find yourself captivated in the story. Train to Busan is a fun movie, with a standard plot and surprisingly, only two settings ( in the trains and the train stations) but the deeper story going on with the characters as they deal with their internal struggles during the end of the world, is why I give this movie 4.5 stars out of 5.
